How about them Russians?

By nauri

It seems as if my name, Nauri, or my blogging has attracted the attention of many Russian readers.  To you, I say “Welcome!”  I’ve been trying to translate some of the comments that have been left by my new guests with bablefish.  Perhaps another translator is needed, as I’m having a hard time making sense of the replies.  Before they are doomed to spam deletion, I thought I’d post some of them along with the bablefish translations…

Anyone speak Russian well enough to translate these into something that one of us mono-lingual folks can understand?

Omigosh!!! Whoa! Go to Google Translate–real easy to use! I used it on some of these–some are positive, some aren’t. It’s your choice to delete them from your Comments section.

LOL yeah, there are a lot of them. I did end up going to google translate and 2 other translator sites. Google was, by far, the best of them as far as making sense after translation.
I can trace back to about a year ago when I was looking at where hits were coming in from – one of them was a translation site and from what I could gather, it translated blogs into the reader’s native language. About a month ago, I started seeing replies hitting the spam box left and right. I had to ask someone else what language that was and from there started translating. Still, the translations were hard to understand.
I confess, I’m terrible at any language besides English. I’m not ashamed of this – I tried taking classes in French and Spanish in school and college… it just didn’t sink in!
I am in awe of people who speak more than one language and have vast patience while someone tries to communicate their needs to me in whatever broken English they can muster. They are certainly doing better with English than I am with their native tongue!

I do know one Russian word. Ok, so it’s kind of a cheat because it is the same in both English and Russian: Enthusiasm! I heard that so many years ago and it stuck with me. Enthusiasm. What a great word for 2 countries to share!

Nauri, I am sorry to say but the comments from Russians that you are alluding to are all spam. I get them daily and am sick and tired of them. I really do not understand why there is such a huge problem with Russian spam out there, but there you go. I would recommend you just delete the lot as utter garbage and don’t try to make sense of them. I am Russian myself, and most of the comments don’t make any sense (grammatically or allegorically speaking).
    All the best,
    DorsetWalker
